In that spirit, we are asking for one favor more.  We would love any of you that are snapping candid photos at the wedding to share them with us.

Thanks to the magic of digital cameras and the internet, you can all share any photos you have taken at our wedding (and not just pictures of us!…everyone!) very easily.

Our photosharing website is http://f-swap.com/FoxParkerWedding/.  Once you’ve logged into our account, you can upload the shots you’ve taken and download any photos that others have taken.  We will also be uploading the professional pictures of the two of us together for everyone to see.  To log in, the email address is foxparkerwedding@gmail.com and the password is philipjoy.

A couple of sample photos are on the website now, but after Friday, let the flood of uploading begin!

The ceremony will start at 1pm at Olivet, followed by drinks and hors d’oeuvres from 3pm to 6pm at the Farm.

It’s entirely possible that we’ll have maps to London Heritage Farm available at the ceremony.  So forsaking all else, just get yourself to the church on time!

1) If you have already purchased a gift and are able to drop it off at the Fox residence (113 Oakland Street) before the wedding, please do. It will make our lives simpler as we try to figure out what to store (university essays), what to ship (KitchenAid Mixer and ice cream attachment), and what to pack (our darn tough socks). Thank you.

2) Like you, we have heard that it sometimes rains in Vancouver, even in the summer. Optimistic and brimming with youthful confidence, we are planning on heading out to the farm unless there is precipitation falling from the sky. So come prepared. However, we do have a backup plan. In the case of rain, our reception will be held in the lobby and foyer of Massey Theatre, just a 5 minute drive from the church in New Westminster. Please check this website the afternoon before the wedding as we will be making our final decision then. Maps to both the church and farm will be available at the church as promised.

3) We are doing well. Excited, tired at times, but well. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on the 28th. See you there!

Diving headlong into the vast ocean of wedding minutiae, we got lost navigating things like gift registries and directions and sometimes woke up in the middle of the night asking questions like, “Should the ring-bearer wear aftershave, and if so, are we responsible for that?”

This blog is our humble response to the confusing sea of wedding queries.

Seriously, though, we’re completely joking.

Suffice it to say, registering for gifts can be sort of stressful.   Juggling the idiosyncracies of a persnickety American groom bent on consumer research, the difficulties of registering and receiving gifts in two countries, and the logistics of moving house several times in the near future has given us pause. Because of this, gifts towards the cost of setting up a home would be preferred.

However, as people who understand the joys of making lists and purchasing gifts, we have made a list (on Amazon) of things we’d love to have in our home. And yes, most of them have something to do with the kitchen.  In the United States, gifts may be sent to David and Nancy Parker, 7144 Gila Court, Palmdale, CA, 93551. In Canada, gifts may be sent to Mark and Shirley Fox, 113 Oakland Street, New Westminster, BC, V3L 1P5 or brought to the wedding.

Note: Almost all things on Amazon don’t ship to Canada. If you live in Canada please feel free to use our list as a helpful guide at Canadian stores.  If you live in the States, obviously feel free to purchase at a store other than Amazon. Either way, please email foxparkerwedding@gmail.com so we can remove purchased items from the list. That way, we won’t end up with more than one Therm-a-Rest Ambush, Mossy Oak New Break-Up Air Mattress (I can’t believe James Philip put that on there!).

On June 22nd 2008, just one month after James Philip and Lindsey Joy ran into each other twice(!) on the same Sunday afternoon in May, a letter arrived by post.

Meeting you again was a delightful surprise. This – whatever it is – feels comfortable. Thank you. — Lindsey Joy

A week later, James Philip courageously countered with this response.

For our reconnection, I will add my gratitude to the thanks in your last letter. Definitely a delightful surprise. Geographic limitations aside, if this – whatever it is – fails to blossom even further, it will not be blamed on any deficiency in my leaping admiration for you or a lack of fervor in my hopes, and reveries. — James

James Philip’s leaping admiration was not lost on his reader. On the very same day his letter arrived, Lindsey Joy slipped a little email into his inbox. A shy reply, all on its own.

Though yours may leap, my admiration (for you, obviously) twirls and skips. Shyly. Joyfully, in the deepest sense of that word. I simply cannot believe it. You feel like home. (This is the part where I blush furiously; Darn those barely-under-the-surface capillaries) I am in. Whatever this is. — Lindsey Joy

It had been almost two years since they met at Regent College. Since then, Lindsey Joy had finished her first year of law school in Ottawa; James Philip had finished two years at Regent. And then this. A random re-meeting on West Broadway due to last minute house-sitting, a sunny afternoon, a love for long walks and the lure of great cinnamon buns.

The letters and emails continued through the summer and into the fall as Lindsey returned to Ottawa for school. But we won’t share them all here, they’re ours. Plus, we don’t want to make you sick bore you. Suffice it to say, “whatever it is” did blossom further. We thrived over the long distance, got engaged at the end of January, told our parents in Palmdale and New Westminster and have been walking on air ever since. We can’t wait to be married.

We’re in. Whatever this is.
